State of NM ONGARD
In an effort to maximize the tax and lease revenues associated with natural resource exploitation (oil, mineral, water, and gas), and to make tax revenues generated by the exploitation of those resources more transparent to the public, the state of New Mexico's Department of Tax and Revenue has utilized GIS and business intelligence technologies to create a public-facing Web-based application called ONGARD. This application combines data from the State Land Office, the Department of Tax and Revenues, and the Department of Oil and Minerals and allows private industry, state employees, and public users to see reports and maps of what (and how many) natural resources are being exploited where and when, as well as their associated tax and lease revenues.Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB)
