WESCO International, Inc. – Highest ROI
WESCO, a leading provider of MRO products, construction materials, and advanced integrated supply procurement outsourcing services, employed WebFOCUS to aggregate purchasing, inventory management, financial reporting, and supplier information from hundreds of disparate UNIX servers and deliver it in real-time directly to employees worldwide. With WebFOCUS, WESCO provides low-cost access to real-time information to an extensive user community, including business analysts, senior executives, and managers. While analysts are able to drill down to line item detail, managers use a higher-level customized format. Since deploying the WebFOCUS technology, WESCO has saved millions of dollars.
City of Philadelphia – Most Innovative Use of Technology
Philadelphia used WebFOCUS to build a Homeless Outreach Application, which the city uses to track its homeless population and monitor their last point of contact as well as shelter placement. In addition to the Homeless Outreach Application, Philadelphia implemented WebFOCUS to develop an Early Intervention Interruptions Application. This application ensures that young children with developmental disabilities are covered with medical plans by the state. The agencies use WebFOCUS and Maintain to track the services provided by the city.

- Federal 100 Award
The U.S. Department of Justice and Melinda Morgan, deputy director of the DoJ's Human Resource Systems Analysis Group, join a select group of recipients who were recognized for making a significant contribution to federal information technology during the 2002 calendar year. The award was for the DoJ's Human Capital Project, which was designed to meet a presidential mandate for human-capital management. Nominated by Federal Computer Week readers, the winners were selected by a panel of independent judges based on the success of the development, acquisition, or management of federal information technology.

WebFOCUS was named one of three finalists for a 2003 Well-Connected Award in the category of Business Intelligence Solutions from Network Computing magazine. In 2003, these customer applications were accepted into the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution for their innovative uses of technology:
- Beringer Blass Wine Estates, a leader in the premium wine industry, looked to WebFOCUS for the necessary BI to enhance its competitiveness by making critical business data and industry analysis readily available to employees via a corporate portal. This includes key remote sales agents who benefit from unlimited access anytime, anywhere.
- New York Department of Health and Mental Hygiene uses portions of iWay Software's Bioterrorism Response Suite application in its Syndromic Surveillance System, an important business intelligence and data-mining tool that solves lengthy data collection problems. Local healthcare institutions submit symptom data into the system, which conforms this information into a common format. Temporal-spatial analyses are then performed based upon probability modeling, which allows the department to watch for trends that indicate an elevated level of a syndrome, or defined set of symptoms is occurring in specific neighborhoods. This information may then be used to increase active surveillance of disease in a community, or to notify the medical provider community to be on the alert for particular diseases.
- RBC Financial Group uses WebFOCUS for its innovative Bankbook Reconstruct application, completely automating the once manual process of printing bank statements and bankbook reconstructs. As a result, employees save a tremendous amount of time while the financial institution saves millions of dollars. This intranet application enables personnel to instantly reconstruct bank statements containing up to six years of transaction history for their 12 million personal banking clients.
- Trustmark, a major health insurance and benefits-administration company, used HIPAA as the catalyst to build a flexible integration platform incorporating iWay Software's XML Transformation Engine and adapters. This initiative provides value in an ever-increasing e-business environment while being compatible with new government regulations. The system takes HIPAA-standard transactions and processes them based on the specific need.
- United States Department of Justice and its finance staff use WebFOCUS to improve reporting on human-capital assets and costs by streamlining access to HR and payroll information. The Human Resource Systems Analysis Group implemented a secure, Web-based, self-service reporting application providing department-wide access to personnel and payroll information to a variety of users.
- 2002 Infoworld 100
The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene worked with Information Builders and iWay Software to develop the Bioterrorism Response Suite allowing the city's 32 hospitals, the 911 emergency system, laboratories, pharmacies, emergency workers, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to quickly share information and monitor outbreaks of disease.
- Software Business – Best Security Initiative, iWay Software
Software Business named iWay Software's Security Exchange solution, Best Security Initiative. The Security Exchange cost-effectively enables the exchange of information with little to no impact on existing information assets.

The City of Richmond, B.C., which uses WebFOCUS to keep the low-lying city from sinking into the Fraser River, received the Best Application of Web Technology award from the British Columbia Technology Industry Association (BCTIA). The award recognizes outstanding utilization of Internet technology to enhance and improve business processes, operations, sales, marketing, supply chain management, customer service, communications, competitiveness, or business relationships.

Moneris Solutions, Canada's leading technology merchant processing company, has rolled out Canada's first Internet-based online transaction and analysis reporting service for merchants – to over 300,000 merchants. The system offers daily Visa, MasterCard, and debit card transaction report information. It also streamlines cash flow and consolidated statements. Moneris plans to provide this application to U.S. merchants.

RBC Financial Group has automated the process of bank statement reprints and bankbook reconstructs, saving the bank millions of dollars per year and creating a more profitable revenue channel. Return on investment equaled 1,218 percent.

MSD Wayne Township, one of Indiana's 10 largest public school districts, has integrated all the district's systems so student achievement can be effectively measured. As a result, student achievement has grown, the staff has become more effective, and the school and community have gained recognition, creating even more opportunities.

ArvinMeritor, a $7 billion global supplier of integrated systems, modules, and components for the motor vehicle industry, developed a flexible, intuitive Web environment for a wide range of reporting needs, including accounting and financial reports, task forecasting, customer service, end-of-month billing, quality control, shipping, engineering, and purchasing.
Geronimo
Geronimo an employee relations service, has succeeded in developing an innovative and highly flexible payroll system. The system is based on an intelligent workbench supporting increased flexibility and individualization of employee benefits by enabling payroll specialists to define payroll and benefits regulations. This has allowed Geronimo many benefits, including excellent application performance, time savings, complete scalability, and shorter application maintenance cycles.
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) utilizes WebFOCUS for its innovative BureauNet Project for the Federal Insurance Mitigation Administration (FIMA) and National Flood Insurance Program Bureau (NFIP). The solution, implemented by Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), revolutionized the way information is delivered to disaster responders through a Web-based system powered by Information Builders' technology.
CSX Transportation
CSX Transportation, the largest railroad in the eastern United States, consolidates their disparate signal-trouble ticket systems into one Web-based system. This has led to an enhanced ability to more effectively respond to signal incidents, thereby enhancing railroad operations and safety.
Caja Espana
Caja Espana, one of Spain's leading financial institutions, devised the Commercial Information System (CIS) project, to meet customer demands and improve its relationship with the most profitable customer segments.
BMO Bank of Montreal
Bank of Montreal, Canada's first bank and one of the largest financial institutions in North America, created WebMPM. This electronic reporting system gives the bank's finance staff information at their fingertips. Users are able to drill down and produce consistent, accurate reports in a matter of minutes.
- KMWorld Best Practice Award
Administaff, a respected leader in the professional employer organization (PEO) industry, has received the KMWorld Best Practice Award. The award is presented by KMWorld Magazine to companies that have made significant contributions within their organizations through the use of knowledge management and business intelligence.
- Boeing Gold Performance Rating
The Boeing Company has awarded Information Builders a coveted Gold performance rating for quality and delivery of software products. This rating is accorded vendors who can meet Boeing's stringent criteria – a success rate and satisfaction level of no less than 100% – for a minimum of one year. Information Builders products are used by Boeing for its work at the Kennedy Space Center.

OASIS allows executives, employees, partners, and clients to better manage their real estate properties with detailed or consolidated financial, lease, and occupancy information and statistics.
The United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania
The United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania installed a WebFOCUS system to automate the tracking and capture of financial donations made over the Internet, resulting in an elimination of all paperwork, reduced costs, and an improved collections process.
USPS
The United States Postal Service's Anti-Money Laundering solution, powered by WebFOCUS, instituted reporting and analysis tools to track suspicious money orders and locate patterns that may indicate money-laundering activities.
